Alfons Mucha and William Blake inspired Art
Hello,
today I want to show you some of my work that is/was inspired by the work of great masters.
(Art Journal Journey Challenge)
You probably all know William Blake and his poetry, but he also illustrated his poems. I love his poetry and when I first saw a copy of his handwritten and illustrated work...I wanted to do the same, but I am not William Blake - so my work turned out to be completely different and is still unfinished....
I also love the work of Alfons Mucha and Art Nouveau Designs fascinate me extremely. So I started a series of Mucha inspired collage-paintings... most of them are not finished - unfortunately...
Please leave a comment!

Autumn Leaves...
Dear Friends,
today I went on a bike ride in the woods with my family. The rain had just finished and had colored the forest in soft brightness.....the tree trunks almost black and the remaining leaves shining in red, green, brown and yellow!
Have a look!
today I went on a bike ride in the woods with my family. The rain had just finished and had colored the forest in soft brightness.....the tree trunks almost black and the remaining leaves shining in red, green, brown and yellow!
Have a look!
I am a leaf
on a tree
watching
the sea as it washes toward the pebbled sand.
I grew up
in spring lovely and green,
young and
innocent.
I felt the
warm rising power of the sun
And I
experienced her passionate heat in summer.
Thirsty and
burned I waited for the cold of night.
Now I am
old.
I saw many
people come and go
Children
play
Heard the
birds and the wind sing
Singing me
to sleep…
Now I am
old.
My days
will soon be over
And I will
drop down onto the shore.
I might get
lucky
and the
strong winter wind will blow me away
into the
sea to find my final peace.
Next year
my children will come
And see and
hear what I once saw.

Oktober 2014 Still Life / Stillleben
Hello Everyone...
this months theme of the Mix it Monthly Challenge is Still Life / Stillleben.
Something I hardly ever draw. So while my students were taking a test I arranged my things and drew:
This is what happened:
At home I added some water colors:
What do you think?

Trees - Bäume
Hello Everyone,
the theme of MIX IT MONTHLY for this beautiful month of September is Trees. Trees are one of my favorite things in life! I - actually we all could not live without them.... my last name is Baum - which is Tree in German....my grandparents' family name is Baumgart which can be translated as tree guard...
So actually I have been drawing and painting quite a few trees over the past years and I also made a whole book about trees for my mothers as a present for her 60th birthday...
So come and join me on a walk through my little forest :)
This one is my work for the Challenge and I found one last empty page in my book - yeah!
I used a black pen and water colors.
And here is some older work: I have been doing some work on the theme of Daphne and Metamorphosis:
Metamorphosis, Photography and Acrylic Paint on Canvas, started in 2009 (still in progress)
A variation of my Daphne-Tree you will see later...(digital work with my stencil sketch)
Here are some prints on a sketch of some tree bark I found on the beach - done in 2008
I also painted a big oil painting (about the size of a door) on the Daphne subject - and below the water color sketch I did to work from.... (2008)
I hope you enjoyed my walk though the trees!
Have a nice week!

And in the end I did the four seasons with my Daphne. These are four A4 pages done in pen and colored pencils, 201. I still would like to do them as wall mosaics on an outside wall of our house.
I hope you enjoyed my walk though the trees!
Have a nice week!

Crazy Dresses / Lustige Kleider
Hello....
we (my family) are all back from a lovely short vacation at my parent's house. And I even found some time....to....well, mainly I had my head free to draw and create in my head and then I eventually found time to put something onto paper.....
Since my book is almost full, I started a new sketch book and this time it is a "Black Book" and here is my first page, which is for the theme:

Frida Kahlo
Hello my Dear Readers,
yesterday I decided to give the Art Journal Journey's theme for August Frida Kahlo a try.
First I only wanted to draw her hair, but I ended up doing a little portrait. Forgive me Frida, you are much prettier in the photo, but I tried to give my best and it was my first attempt!
I first drew here face with black pen and then I added some watercolors!
More soon!

Flower Power
My interpretation of flower power is Hildegard von Bingen. She was ahead of her time and knew so much about the power of flowers and plants! Revealing true flower power - she made it into my journal for this months theme of the Art Journal Journey.
I hope you all enjoy it.
At the same time I started a flower power painting, which isn't finished yet. As soon as it is done I will add it to this post!
Thanks for dropping by!

Artist Trading Cards
I got ask to trade some cards on flickr the other day, but I have to admit, I didn't have any, nor it I really know what it is all about! So I did my homework and read up on ACT on the internet. Sounds like fun, I thought! And then I got creative!
