Doors / Türen is the theme of the
Art Journal Journey this month.
Doors....
Usually when I "do art" I think a lot.....maybe too much sometimes....so basically my art is in my head for at least a week or two. I think, I read, I research....and then finally I start.
I have been reading
Frank Kafka's Metamorphosis (
"Die Verwandlung") with my students the past weeks and doors are a key element in his work. So Kafka inspired me to do something on doors.

I did two pieces. This one is the one I like most, but then my daughter (5) told me I should put the bug up on the top, because they can crawl everywhere.....
and I tried....unfortunately the printer pulled in my paper wrong so it looks a bit off!
Additionally, I am not sure if you can actually see, that I drew with metallic crayons! (I am sorry about the lousy scan, it is the first time, I am not happy with how the scans turned out!)
